Learn the F Major Guitar Chord

The F major guitar chord is probably one of the hardest chords to learn.

It is usually the first barre chord you will attempt and for many guitarists it can be extremely frustrating. Here are some tips that can make learning the F major chord easier.

Don’t Use Your Finger as a Capo

Look at the F major guitar chord above. Your index finger is only really holding 3 strings. Yet, when most new guitarists form a barre they try to hold down all the strings – DON’T DO THIS!

The trick is to twist your finger slightly so that you are only applying pressure to the strings you need to (Low E, B, and High E).
