I've always wondered, why do we always start by learning E major? I definitely did, as I'm sure did many guitarists. What's the history there? Did Bert Wheedon teach E first and everyone's done so since or something?

Just thinking out loud, what is the teaching reason for starting with an E?

Thoughts?
